Found out yesterday that our townhole (err..home) complex is going up for sale. Not from the landlord mind you, but on a real estate website. Hoo-friggin-ray! Sheri and I decided this may impact us in one of three ways:
1. Nothing's gonna happen...business as usual
2. Rent's gonna hike up to Tucson's already overinflated "standard"
3. Since our lease is up we'll have 30 days to beat cheeks outta there
...of course 1 in a perfect world would be likely (and while I'm dreaming I want a Mini) we unfortunately have to expect the worst, so the house hunt is back on. As stated before, the housing market is less than welcoming for first time schmoes like us with 1000sq ft hellholes going for $200k - $300k ...and financing is another fucked up racket entirely. In this "land of the free, home of the brave" flag waving country only the rich are allowed a roof over their head to call their own, with tax breaks galore, 3 suvs, and a litter of children to call their own. Bleh. I really do wish that the "decision makers" of our country had to endure 30 days of living like the poor minimum wagers they so callously step over for a quick buck. I have this odd feeling that things would change drastically in the first 3 days of that little experiment. Some would contend that they work hard to get to where they are (wherever that may be). But it seems long term memory isn't their strong suit as they continually close doors to the very people they once were for the lure of the allmighty dollar.
...with that off my chest, enough rambling. Need a house, need financing for it, and I need a damned drink for thinking about this B.S.
