New Year's .... big boring time ... didn't drink alot.
...Went to the "hip-n-trendy" Grill, since they have a bar (I use that term loosely) and since my good friend unfortunately lost his license. Two things about "Grill" you should know: 1.) Grill has a bar that has a max occupancy of 12 on a good day. 2.) If you look anywhere near normal it's a fair assumption you may not get served too quickly (if at all). Our experience was far less than stellar. Fugitives from pseudo-bohemian clubs huddled around the bar oblivious to the uninitiated fools who wandered in from the cold looking for at least one drink only to be denied by the "cooler than thou" bartenderess selectively slinging drinks to every comely female who she happened to gaze upon. And the "entertainment" - a cross between the Dead Milkmen, a strangled cat, and a live surgical procedure (sans anasthesia) looking much like the crowd with syncopated head bobs every third beat. But funny thing is, for all the crap and frustration of the night it ceased to matter after the final chime of 2005....I had a drink...my wife and friends with me... and that was enough.
Happy New Year
p.s. I've been monkeying around with flash and came up with
this (bloated) test page... It's far from being what I want yet, but I'm learning. Lemme know what you think...
